They have an A4 Avant, Silver 2.8 quattro. Looks like a good deal. Wondering if know anything about that dealer and/or would be up to going by there and giving the car a look see???

I know of that place. I have had 2 friends who have bought VW's from there and other than the fact that they overpaid pricewise, the cars were/are in good shape. No major problems with the 2 cars in the 2 years they've owned them...

European Autohaus was at one time a major used car dealer here in Holland. Recently they have scaled down a bit. They have moved into a smaller lot and don't carry as many cars as they used too. Reason being I don't know...

They seem to be a big dealer of just off lease cars. Most of them being Audi's and VW's...

I have seen that A4 Avant a couple of times as I drive-by it a couple of times a week. Looks good from the street:) It's parked out front with 2 other A4 sedans that are for sale...

I'll take a closer look at it tonight after work...

Heres what I found...

1998 A4 Avant 55,000 miles $17,900
Silver with Tan leather...

Car is in excellent condition interior wise...
Front is free of rock chips...
Rear end looks good...
I did not see any leakage underneath the car...
Suspension/tires OK for 3 year old stock items...

The passenger side has a scrape/fold that starts mid passenger front door and continues back to the rear fender. This scrape/fold is just above the trim molding in the middle of the door. It looks as if someone scrapped the whole side of the car against something hard and pointy but not sharpe. There's not alot of broken paint but more of a long dent. It's not terribly noticable but it is indeed nasty looking up close...

I would pass on this car unless you know somebody that would do body work for free/cheap...

I did not drive the car so I cannot comment on it's mechanicals...
