PeteP 10-21-1999, 03:37 AM Ask me in a couple months. I'm trading a 98.5 2.8 Avant QT for a 00 1.8T Avant QMS. Never did care for the chrome roof rack on the 2.8 but hate to give up the leather. Even w/o mods don't expect there will be much performance difference between 2.8 Tip and the 1.8T manual. We'll find out in another 6 weeks. JasonB 10-21-1999, 07:50 AM I live at 5000 feet so the performance difference isn't that great. Up in the mountains the differences dwindle further. There are far more after market engine mods for the 1.8 too! ferris 10-21-1999, 08:01 AM I bought the 99.5 1.8T manual Avant after test driving both. After 400 miles, I love the feel of the 1.8T manual. Rich L. 10-21-1999, 09:45 AM I went with the 1.8T. My plan all along was to add a performance chip. The APR chip at 1,500 miles gave me about the same power as the V6 and I find the little turbo to be more fun to drive. Rich L. 99 1.8TAQMS |
