to answer your Q I have not. I dont know how to test the batteries for V. the weird thing is on step 3 of faq when I hit the button the horn honks so the ir is working and the key must be operating.

The vacuum pump is in the right corner of the rear seat cushion (under the cushion, of course).
So take the seat cushion out, climb in with the window rolled down, point the IR key at the sensor on the B piller, and try to lock the car. You should hear the the vacuum pump hum and the locks should suck down in about 1 second. If the vacuum pump doesn't run, or runs longer than about 1 second, you either have a bad pump, or a leak in the system (which causes the pump to continue to run).
You bought the correct 1.5v batteries right? Is the eye on the key all covered with dust/pocket lint, etc? It should be crystal clear.

Im assuming since the 4 doors will all lock from the driver or pass side door lock with the key the pump should be working. the lens is clean and so is the pillar sensor.

My batteries recently went dead and I had to recode because the alarm computer wasn't recognizing the signal from IR key. Details are in the owner's manual and it takes 2 keys.

I have never done that. Just click it the # of times for what seat memory you want it programmed to, then WAIT 10 seconds before clicking again.
