View Full Version : Question to see if this is possible. Can I change an analog climate control for a digital one?

I think one of my controls is gone, and I would have to spend a lot of money to get it fixed, or try to find a replacement part and hack it myself. But, is it possible to replace that analogy, knob driven, controls with the digital one's. I have a 93 100s, and a 93 100cs donor.

I don't know if the electrical harness on my 100s is the same as a 100cs, so that I could just switch them over.

If anyone can help, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Happy Holidays guys!!!!!!!

and the wiring probably wouldn't bolt up. It has a special harness, just like the radio does.

If you were to do this, you'd most likely need the entire assembly from a host dashboard, including the wooden trim around the digital unit. You'd then also need the harness, and most likely would have to splice together wires in order to make the new unit work, even if it could.

I would probably just keep your climate control setup as it is.

Though, if you'd like to inquire about it further, you could take off the dash paneling surrounding the analog unit and take pics of the wires controling it, then compare it to the setup of a digital unit.

It *may* be possible that the analog has the same plugs as the digital unit, and simply just has a different housing, but that seems very unlikely.

Still though, if you want to do it and can manage to get your analog unit out without breaking anything, post some pics here and we'll compare them.
