Sorry about the joke, I didn't read the article.
And yes, it is Audi 100.

I also feel unsecure on slippery roads and am very careful as my tires have some miles on them and are all weather and not winter tires.

I had a ride in a BMW, 2-3 years old 3 series these days. I was not driving. I expected it to slide alot as it is rear weel drive, but it was very stable (the road may have been treated already)! I know they have a stability control, but still. I am curious to see it in real snow and may be some ice underneath. However for sure RWD with good tires is much better than AWD with old/all weather tires, especially on a slippery road.

You have to remember that Quattro wont save people from dying but some thinking + skills, sometimes even that wont help. A lot of the drivers on road are unpredictable and we all know that.

I vote for mandatory driving classes (20hours of driving IN THE CITY) for every new driver in this country.

NOW...that would SAVE the people!

all cars steer with 2 wheels nad brake with 4.

Honestly, 4 snow tires &gt;&gt; quattro any day.
