Muffler on a 1994 100CS Q Avant.

I seem to remember purchasing a repair connector in the form of a split flange for something like this on one of the 5000's that I owned.

Does anyone know of a source for such a device or can anyone recommend another repair technique that does not involve welding?<ul><li><a href="http://www.galleriacrystalrun211.com/images/audi/flange_from_cats_to_ctr_muffler1.jpg">Flange-View from bottom</a></li></ul>

Shouldn't cost more than $40 or so for some quick welding.

I haven't heard of any bolt on fix...You'd need a new flange anyways.

I was thinking of using the flange from the cats, and cutting out a section of the pipe for the center muffler ( where the flange has rusted away), and clamping the slip-on end to the pipe using "Walker Acoustical Sealing Compound.

How does tis sound to you?<ul><li><a href="http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&amp;part=PSM%2D82%2D4114&amp;N =700+400091+315179+115&amp;autoview=sku">SS Flange to Slip-on Flex-Joint</a></li></ul>
