I have a C4 1995 Audi A6 model . My problem is that when i shift my gear leaver to P(Parking ) position ,the signal on the dashboard is not showing the same.It will only show that it is in D position. As such i could start the car. Can I know what are the probable reasons for this and how can it be sorted out. Thank you.

next thing to check is the cable adjustment at the shifter.

did you do any recent work around the center console or under the dash?
