I had 1 bulb out when I bought the car, no big deal I could still see everything fine. Tonight on my way to the gym the bulb under the 0-60 went out- so now I can hardly see how fast I am going @ night.

I plan on replacing the bulbs before I head out on my spring break trip next week. I would also like to replace the plastic cover over the gauges (mine is scratched)... does Audi (or anyone for that matter) sell just the plastic lens?

For the people who have replaced dash lights on their own... I am a bit of a chump when it comes to this stuff- think I should do it on my own? I am just afraid of getting it out and not being able to get it back in or something.

Thanks again folks!

It takes some soldering skillz, so if you can't solder...

From the FAQ

its super helpful, and provides me a bit of confidence I can do this myself.

I just would hate to get halfway through and not be able to get the dash back in or something.

Blaufergnugen has a kit with high intensity bulbs. They are fantastic. Remove the leatherette trim under the cluster by removing a couple of screws. Slide the cluster toward the steering wheel and unplug the harnesses in the back. Each one is unique so you can't mix them up. Take the cluster to your workbench or kitchen table and put in on a soft towel or blanket. Pull the bulbs out from the back and plug in the new. Cinch!!

I was a service manager for a year at a Segway dealership.

Audis and Segways are a bit different however.

The key is, take your time, and don't force anything.

Regarding your scratched up clear lens. Go buy some Meguiar's Plastic Cleaner, and their Plastic Polish.

In about 2min you'll have that instrument cluster looking like brand new.

you dont happen to know the part numbers for these do you? I need two more of the smaller orange based ones, and I dont want to pay $9.00 shipping for two $.89 bulbs
