For those that don't know, the CF hood and trunk lid group buy is going forward! The hoods are being replicated from a URS4 hood and the trunk lids will fit any C4 chassis car, so if you're interested, please read the full thread and then shoot me an email.

http://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/209873.phtml</a

He's rebuilt about 75% (or more) of his Austin Mini out of carbon fiber. Man is it light and fast!

Maybe hood prop rods would be a better solution and wouldn't stress the assembly?

I wonder if they'd stop the hood from closing all the way? Hrrmmm. I just suggested the NAPA struts as they're cheap, easy and available everywhere.

Kamloops is a beautiful place by the way and my name is MiniMan because of my lust to own an oldschool Austin Mini. I'd love to own one with a Honda swap one day.

Find out that an A3 Jetta/Golf/Passat rod will work and build around that. It's not like you're going to need 100 of them.

so I still think it'd be a good thing to have done and leaves the option open for a strut anyways, should the owner decide they'd prefer that road.

I'd just be worried that it'd be hard to find a rod that fits with the arches along the radiator support.
