According to the 'OO Symphony (non-bose) manual the car has '4 line outputs'. and you can connect the following: 2 speakers (front) and 2 active speakers(back) or 4 active speakers or ny standard commercial amplifier.
So I went to a car audi store, the guys pulled the head unit and said, 'um, you need to get copies of the Audi mechanics manual with the schematics,' and these are the guys who do stuff for the local dealer...they say there is probably already a standalone amp but they don't know where it is...until they can find it and check it out no solid answers.
I was also told that line outputs do not = line level outputs and that if, as they suspect, they have to put in a 'line level converter' i could actually end up with lower quality, albeit more powerful, audio as the system will pick up electrical noise from the ignition coil. ACK!!! I'm even more confused...can anyone help me here ???
