Is this the amp or the head or the wires?

Anyone else have this happen to them?

busted amp usually does not come and go.

how do you check behind the head? Do you have to take it out?

The wire on mine was broken near the door hinge. Check there first. I wasted a lot of time elsewhere.

How did you check it and get around it?

With the radio on and the door open start by pushing and pulling the rubber boot and see if the speaker is affected otherwise loosen the boot at the door end an gently tug the wires.
And I really mean GENTLY!

if you want to trouble shoot, plug the passenger side into the driver side harness and see if it plays. If it does then you know its something inside the enclosure if not its something between the door and the radio
