I am trying to decide whether to buy a 96 Audi Quattro from my brother. We agreed on a price of $5000. but the moon roof does not work and the air conditioner needs, at the very least, re-charging. He has three Multi-mile tires on the car (in good shape) and one odd ball brand. I cannot buy a replacement Multi-mile as they are discontinued. He ran into a tree and cracked the back bumper. I'm told that repairing it would only result in it cracking out from movement of the bumper. The lower front bumper has also been damaged and the lower grill needs replacing. Looks like someone tried to glue the brackets that hold the grill pieces in. He did spend $2500. already fixing other things on the car. I like the car and it drives very nice but am not sure if I am really getting a "deal".

i've had 2 95 A6, both quattros, 135-140-miles range, paid $2750 and $2800....last one i still have it, sable brown on black leather interior, Bose stereo, the car drives better than my S6
for 5000 you can get an S car....my 2 cents

I paid $5000 for my car in great condition, 4 years ago.

Its not good for Quattro to be running different age/style tires, the body needs work, and it has electrical and mechanical problems. Doesn't sound like a deal to me.

Thanks for the advice. It is a tough one as I have already got the loan, licensed the car and have insurance set up, of course. My brother is willing to take it back. Lesson learned--I guess.
Again your imput was helpful.
