What do you do?

Just finished doing the wheel bearing and was putting it back together and I ran into this.

Tried to hammer it down from the top but That did not work. Funny, the hammer almost always works!

Squeeze together to force the tie rod end into the socket.

to wedge into the strut arm. Then I backed that nut off and put the new one on.
