Does anyone which A4 model years the recent tie rod end recall applies involves? My mother in law who owns a 98.5 A4 2.8 just got a notice in the mail and I am wondering whether and if I will get one too.

We have a 1997 A4, and wonder about the tie rods, as it will go out of warranty in February. Any further word on 97s?

....and the VIN ranges I pulled from the official bulletin don't include any '97 A4's. But I suppose Audi might expand the recall to include 1997 A4's if they feel they have the problem also.

You should have the tie rods inspected prior to the end of your warranty.
