I need to replace the ac/flap vent motors on my 92 100csq. The air comes only out of vents 3 & 4. No air flow out of vents 1 & 2 to the windshield (i.e. for defrosting/defogging) and the center console for the rear passengers. What motors are broken? Which motors controls vents 1 & 2 and vent 5 and where are they located? Thanks for everyones' help. FYI, this is my first audi so...I know nothing!!!

that's what I found in regards to air flow from the vents. I even have a guy who wants to sell to me the motors off an A6 that he is parting out. Now I'm really confused. Please elaborate further. Thanks in advance.

If you have climate control. The flaps are controlled by motors. 91 and earlier were vac. operated.

The motors move lever arms, one on each side of the heater box. If you remove the radio you can see which is moving when you adjust the AC. This job is a pain (ie remove console, glove box, drivers knee bar). You will have you remove both motors to change one so if they arn't to pricy do both.
