I am experienceing a humming noise coming from the back of my car once I turn off the ignition after a long drive (especially when its hot outside). It comes in 5 seconds intervals (on off on off) for up to 15 minutes after the car has been shut off. Any ideas? Has anybody had a similar problem.

I suspect the noise is coming from the fuel pump. Somebody mentioned that the fuel pump relay may be getting stuck in the on position. Any thoughts on that?
If not I may get some honey from the bees back there (LOL).

worries you just try quickly releasing the filler cap and you will hear the rush of air.
