Since the temps got into the 100s, my a/c has smelled absolutely horrible... like wet desert dust.

Which filter might I replace to attempt to curb this?

I know my condensation drain is blocked -- haven't figured out how to open it as yet. Could that be the cause?
Thanks

water is constantly being dropped into that tray. During the winter you start using the heat which creates a nice dark warm place. Mold likes to grow in such places. On my 90 I had this problem once and removed the blower motor then poured a couple ounces of bleach and let it sit over night. The next morning I flushed it out with warm water. Then I let the system run for a while with the windows down and me out of the car. Car might smell a little sterile for a couple of days but it worked. Just make sure you clear the drain before you try anything like this.

I opened the glove box and looked into the inside flap thing (ac running). Napkins, newspapers, repair receipts, leaves, twigs, etc. Operating only by "feel" I pulled out what I could. It is much better now.

I took it to a dealer to get the drain un-jammed. However, he said that the "box" from where the drain orignates is full of leaves, etc.

He gave me an estimate of 5 hours labour to clean the box. I am confused as to what I need to do? How do I clean the drain?

Last summer, when I used the AC for 4 hours, some water dripped on my leg while driving...

Mighty grateful for any advise you might have.
Thanks
Manu
