my headlight bulb warning light is turning on *after* I removed my HID kit... anyone else have this happen?

my kit (installed) caused my bulb warning light to go on when turning on headlights... but would turn off after about 5 seconds...

now, with the kit removed, the warning light goes on and stays on! using stock bulbs =(

any ideas? suggestions? I plugged and unplugged the bulbs... checked that the bulbs were on and off when flipping the switch (low, high, and fog)

thanks =)

I figure I would sell it while I could get a decent amount of money... and then invest in some xenon projector housings + xenon kit when I have the time and money =) besides, my headlight housings are 8 years old... and very chipped up from the east coast salt roads... all of this just decreases the light output I receive from any kit I put in... so replacing the headlight housings are the next step to go

I'm thinking of putting HID's in my 97 A6. It uses H1 bulbs and projector lens for low beams? Didn't your car use the projector lens also?

Why didn't you like your kit? Do you feel it's not worth it? Did you have to modify the weather tight caps to get the wires through?

I also don't want trouble from the auto check system. Thanks

my 96 used 9006 for low beams (the same kit would have worked for the 9005 high beams). I also have factory projectors. The kit was ok, but since my headlight housings were waaay scratched from east coast salt and rock chips, the light output was reduced. it was still better than my oem lights, bit I figured I would sell now and raise money for some new housings and another kit when I have the time. I did have to drill holes into the plastic housings to make the bulbs fit.

I'm having problems with my check headlights right now, but I'm hoping to resolve it when I have time.

I was trying to find a rubber boot at kragens... I was too lazy to go to home depot... but I would suggest drilling a 1" hole (if you can get it just right for the bulb wire) and then buying a rubber boot and glueing that on to the pastic housing
