Now onto the struts. Bentley says to mark the installation position of strut (the camber adjustment). What and where am I looking for to mark?

Also, the next instruction says to turn steering wheel so that shock absorber shaft can be centered on bearing plate (clamp piece of wood between spring and wheelhouse).
How do I know if the shaft is centered on bearing plant? And what's this business with a piece of wood between the spring and wheelhouse? Am I supposed to just jam a 2x4 into the spring and let it touch the fender?
