View Full Version : Car goes in the shop next week!

I have just got it back together now for the 3rd time after breaking the shock. I've taken it back off and added a rubber spacer, repositioned the spring 2 times, and still the car sits lower on the rear left, and clunks when it hits bumps. I haven't driven the car except around my neighbor hood a little to test it, since November. And I have to drive one of my Thunderbird SC's in the snow (not bad but the Audi doesn't get stuck in the driveway like the SC). I don't have the patience or the time to freeze my ass off outside in a blizzard trying to work on this car anymore, so I'm gonna take it in and have someone else try to figure this out.

Levent said he ran into problems when the back left shock was changed out for the bilstein originally and had to have a shop set it up. I don't know why it isn't working for me but I'm done messing with it. I already had to file the mount out bigger since this new bilstein (newer design?) has a bigger shaft than the old one. So I'm really pissed at this car right now.

I think I'm gonna sell it to my friend from Indiana, he says he's interested and I told him its his if he brings me the money. For the price we are talking, I am selling the wheels seperately. So if anyone wants a set of 18's w/ tires, let me know and I'll make you a deal.

I just bought another SC (damn addiction!) so now I have three supercharged Thunderbirds. I am thinking maybe summer of '04 that I will either get an A4 1.8t or an S4. I'm kind of holding out for the S4, thinking if the new ones come out, that will give a price drop on some of the older ones. I'm thinking a 2000 or 2001 S4 in black.

I love my Audi, its style, its awd, and its features. But the lack of power (I'm used to cars that have so much torque you can't floor them off the line or you'll go sideways) and the new trouble with the suspension, it might be time for me to move on. I really do like the style of the 100/A6/S4/S6 but they are heavy cars and under powered. I think a lighter weight quattro sedan w/ turbo (tuning potential) would better suit my needs.

Any thoughts on the suspension problem, the rims for sale, the car for sale?

about all your problems with the car...

If you're selling it off, would you have any extra sets of rims/winter tires you would like to sell?

I seem to recall you saying you had some winter tires/rims laying around...?

How much are you looking to spend not sure if I will part with them or not, but for the right offer maybe.

I could use the money to buy the parts I need to finish my engine on one of my other SC's.
