I have seen lots of information and hot discussion about turbo gauge installation. To me, the most reasonable place for this is where A4 houses the clock, just below the RPMs. I am gonna try take all this instrument cluster out and create an opening which should perfectly vit the VDO gauge. I hope this is ready by Christmas!
A4 1.8TQMS 98

I've never been behind the instrument panel of the A4, I can't tell you that it can't be done. But, when I opened my '83 GT Coupe's panel to replace a bulb, and come to realize that there is a printed circuit board (board is a poor term, it was more like a circuit board printed on paper thin plastic). They probably changed the way they do circuit boards,.. even then, you may have a hard time finding a gauge of that size to fit there.
Good luck with the project... let us know how it turns out.
Cris
