View Full Version : help! how do you take the pin out of the rear tail light harness? TT 10-19-1999, 09:20 AM I've spent 2 hours and still didn't fig out how :-< Zsolt 10-19-1999, 11:18 AM Well, not that hard. Check closely on the harness connector (that you plug into the taillight assembly). On one side about 1/3 of the plastic hinges up - here are tiny latches on the sides. Opening these is delicate, but this is the easy part. Once the side is open, the individual pins still do not come out, they have individual latches keeping them in place. Get a blunt tool that fits into the opening (where they connect to the taillight connectors) and FORCE the desired pin out. It will bend a bit, and the latch on its side may break off, but nothing that would prevent normal use of it. There was a cool S4 at the Jamex booth, but the guys at the booth were busier talking to themselves than willing to help customers, so after standing with my mouth open for 15 minutes, I turned around and left. Its surprising how the big guys are the most likely to ingnore people they don't know! Except for Baer (brakes) where we met the owner and he was very cool. CEC's guy was also very helpful. And I did not see any Audi tuners. Maybe I missed them, or they were not showing at the LVCC. Many TT's were being shown, and a very nice A4 Avant from was parked outside. |
