I am lookin to get the CD changer for my A6 (1997) Which connector should I look for, and where is the connector in the trunk.

Just remember, you need Audi's CD changer. I did not hear about aftermarket compatable models. You can use any CD changer with 8-PIN connector (like from A4 or A8). I am not sure about Porsche and VW CD changers.

I don't want to intrude on your post but i too am looking for a cd changer. I ahve a 100CS (1993), i beleive it is a 13 pin plug but i need to know definitively.

The Audi 8 pin is one of the "bastards" of the automotive world. There is no adapter commercially available to use other CD players. Only audi's 8 pin works. I know in the wagon the plug is in the left rear storage space, under the rubber flooring, secured in a foam tube.
