Can someone please give me a good advice on whether I should by these 17" Replicas for my 97 A6? Three of my existing rims are bent, and are causing vibration in the steering wheel. I'm really tired of that.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1859904304</a

You will need new tires. All together it will be way more, that the set of original S4 wheels. Look at the audiworld/4sale listings. I got set of S4 wheels and P6000 tires for ~$800. Many people sell their wheels in Fall and Spring so you should find something quicly.
As to thefitting, I have tryed S4 with P6000. They fit on the A6qw/96 but the there is 4mm between tire and the suspention. I did not like, how they look on the stock suspention (the gap between body and the wheel too big). I did not try to fit S4 wheels on the car with modifyed suspention and do not know about the fitment.
BTW Because I did not like them, I waited untill spring and sold them on ebay for $1100 :).
Another thing - shiping of the wheel quite expencive. Try to get wheels from local sellers.

thanks for the reply!
1. about the gap. I would imagine it would be smaller than on my existing stock 16".
2. So you are saying that 4mm between tire and suspension is not good?

The gap between the body and the wheel is the same because the outside diameter of the 225/45/17 tire is the same as 205/55/16 you have right now. But with the bigger rim this gap looks more ridiculous. Another thing - the A6 front brakes are not big fat S4 brakes. And I did not like the view of it through the nice 17" rims. The esthetic part should be fixed with lowered suspension and A8 brake rotors.
Wider tires or even 225 tires from different brand could be wider than P6000 and touch the suspension. Another thing is if you changed (like lowered) you suspension - you might get rubbing. I am not positive about it so ask somebody or test on your car.

I have millie miligna..or whatever they are called . They are 17by 7.5 and cost at tiretrack159$each but I bought them from my friend with michelins 225/45/ZR17 SX or was it SSX 's with an extra tire (all tires had 3000miles on them. TOtal = 1000$. Well th's how much I know the wheels are for millie's. And for some reason where the wheels were manufactured they did a good job/they are strong and wheel manufacturers have their wheels made at different places so some casts are done better/stronger than others. Yeah , I nkow Italian wheels are known to be crappy and not strong (german wheel manufaturers make stronger ones ) but these are strong and very light too .
