My older FWD Auto 200 Turbo about 20mpg stop and go and 24mpg HWY.

I average mid 40s to the gallon and can do more than 700 miles before the fuel warning lamp comes on. The car gets driven quite hard and has returned a best average of 50.1 mpg (calculated) with 52.3 showing on the trip computer. I'm not sure that I would trade this blend of economy and performance in for a petrol engined version - certainly not here in the UK!

Torque is 290Nm (or 214lbs/ft in old money). Next for me has got to be a V6 180bhp A6Q TDi with 370Nm (273lbs/ft) and probably still 40 odd to the gallon.

Exchange welcome. The car was de-badged (except for the rings, of course) when I bought it and now I know why. It upsets loads of boy racers here when you simply say "Oh! by the way, did I tell you this is a diesel?"
