The car gets driven quite hard and has returned a best average of 50.1 mpg (calculated) with 52.3 showing on the trip computer. I'm not sure that I would trade this blend of economy and performance in for a petrol engined version - certainly not here in the UK! Jim '97 A6qw Quattro value package 50 HP and 2 mpg short of perfect jimmux2 08-29-2002, 03:25 AM Torque is 290Nm (or 214lbs/ft in old money). Next for me has got to be a V6 180bhp A6Q TDi with 370Nm (273lbs/ft) and probably still 40 odd to the gallon. Wagonmann 08-29-2002, 02:37 PM Jim '97 A6qw jimmux2 08-30-2002, 12:06 AM and 0-60 is under 10 seconds...ye canny whack it! Wagonmann 09-03-2002, 07:27 PM Or some other "short" european mile (to go with that imperial gallon). Thanks for the exchange. Jim jimmux2 09-07-2002, 10:42 PM Jim Exchange welcome. The car was de-badged (except for the rings, of course) when I bought it and now I know why. It upsets loads of boy racers here when you simply say "Oh! by the way, did I tell you this is a diesel?"
