I was parallel parking last night and "wrecked" into a TREE!!! My RH side mirror glass was the VICTIM..

Is it possible to replace the GLASS ONLY??? OR do I have to replace the entire "DOOR"???
I found the door (with glass) for 85$...but I'm kinda poor...I don't really care if I can adjust it or not. If I could somehow get a piece of unbroken glass in there, that'd be fine wit me!

Anyone ever replace the glass??
Any suggestions??

btw...I finally got the side marker lens I needed. Strangely enough, it doesn't seem to snap into place as securely as the other side. I can see no broken brackets....hmmm...I just hope IT doesn't fall off too!

I recently had to purchase the mirror glass on my 95 A6. The passenger side mirror cost around $90 from the dealer. I also replaced the driver side mirror becuase it had imperfections on it. That one was only $40. I don't know what year your car is, but on mine, the passanger mirror is actually smaller than the drivers side. When I asked the dealer about the difference in price he said that it was becuase the passanger side mirror is a curved, and therefore more expensive, glass.

Installing the new mirrors is really easy. Just snap the old ones off and snap the new ones back on.

Do "Ask Jeeves"!

I found a BUNCH of junk yard parts..."Auto recyclers"..

They don't sell only the glass, though...

The dealer wants 83$$ for the glass only...

I wonder if the junk yard mirrors are all WEIRD around the edges like the mirrors on my '92...

upon further inspection, I found that I DO need to replace the entire "door"...
