I've begun to notice that there is considerable wind noise coming from the top of the door where it meets the B frame over 45 mph. If I hold my finger between the closed door and the frame, the noise is significantly reduced (no, I didn't close my finger in the door..:>
I inspected the rubber seal running up the B frame and there are no stress cracks or cuts, and the seal appears to be attached correctly.
Is anyone else experiencing "wind noise" from the door seals? Should I apply some sort of lubricant or silicone?
Thanks,
Erik

My 94 100CS makes noise as well. Mine seems to come from the area directly behind the mirrors. However, I suspect that what has caused mine, may be the same culprit for your noise. The guide buttons on/through the glass seem to wear the seal over time even to the point of appearing to "trim" (looks like some trimmed off part with an exacto knife or something)the rubber or wear down the felt (they also just get hard and less flexible over time). If it is the front seal area, I used some 1/4 O.D. tubing sliced lengthwise and inserted in the seal. This helped dramatically. New window seals are $150 each at the dealer (parts only), haven't yet checked other source (i.e. the web). If you need photos of my fix, I'll be happy to post some for you this weekend.

Erik, had the same problem with my 94 100S. After a lot of saturation with silicone spray the dealership gave me two other options.
One $$$ and the other quick and cheap. Obviously, lets first try inexpensive! Apparently the upper door/window frame can move, especially if someone leans outward against it while the door is open. (I had just had my windshield replaced and the fellow doing the work did exactly that move while replacing the glass. Afterward I had a bunch of wind noise in that door frame.) The Audi tech simply opened the door, rolled down the window, placed his thigh into the interior panel side of the door and then pulled firmly but gently towards himself with the frame top. The door now reseals like new, all the wind noise is gone and the work was done last fall and no problems since.
Give it a shot, be careful and you can't do any damage....Tom G

Thanks Tom.
Now that you mention it, the wind noise started after my door was blown open from a strong wind storm we had over the weekend. I first thought the door was going to be torn off by how quickly it swung open. I closed the door and it appeared to be tight and okay...That's about the time I noticed the wind noise.
I think I'll give the less $$$ option a try first.
