I hope someone here can help me .
Audi A6 2.0 (Auto) 1997
I have this occasional "spark sound" coming from under the steering area, and when this happens,
I notice the Volt meter fluctuates, and the meter gradually goes down to 12 V.
And when I switch off the Air cond compressor,
it immediately went back to normal.
Could it be a relay switch problem?
Then again , I notice this only after I have install a reverse sensor, could this be the problem ?,, I doubt so.....
Thank you in advance

Thanks for the reply IqDOU,
I have notice that when there's no "spark sound"
and during normal driving condition, even with the AirCond compressor running, plus night driving with the headlights on, nothing of this kind happens. The Volt meters shows at 14-15V.
Please elaborate. Tks

....the A/C compressor itself engaging OR the internal climate relay clicking to send power to the compressor.
The voltmeter is staying high because there is a large draw already (headlights, radio, etc...). Therefore the extra draw keeps the voltmeter elevated. High humidity can lessen the sound transmission of the "click", or another passenger, or etc..
HTH!!

that it's the internal climate relay clicking .
If it is, does this mean that the relay switch is out of order ? Do I have to change it, and what is the cost ? What will the consequences if I do not change it ?
Many tks for info,.very much appreciated coz, this has been bothering me quite a bit.

how do I go about installing a relay to the reverse sensor.
And what is a relay ? what does it do?
Where can I get this relay ?(in Klang Valley)
Tks

hi, welcome to audiworld
a relay is like a small black box that acts as a switch which allow or prevent current flow when in closed or open position. The advantage is it uses low current.
Go to any electrical shop specialising in auto to install the relay.

I am quite positive that it must be the relay switch to the air cond compressor. As many times when the "noise" comes, it will stop immediately
when I switch off the air cond compressor.
Must I only use the original Audi relay switch? or is there other options?
Tks again

but the occasional "noise" is kind of irritating.Morever, it makes one feel that something is gonna reach a state of collapse.
I'll try to connect a relay switch to the reverse sensor somewhere next week, and see what happens.

Had my reverse sensor change, so far so good, no "noise" yet from this relay.
But I believe it is still there, and will come back anytime.
Whenever the noise starts,, I just switch off the air cond compressor, and restart again, and the noise disappear.
