Hello everyone, I just bought a casmere grey 1995 A6 quattro that is in great shape, the only thing lacking is a CD player. My car has the Gamma radio (the Bose package was NOT chosen)and I am wondering what is the best way to get my car to play CDs. Is my radio pre-wired? Is there any way I can utilize the current radio with a changer? Any suggestions where I can get a changer?
Thanks

(lets assume you are) the wire and connector for a sedan is in the passenger side of the trunk.
I think a dealer wants $600 or so for an Audi changer and it has a wierd Audi setup so standard CD players do not work.
They show up on e-bay occasionally. Don't know what they go for.
You could get a new head unit and start over.
Call or e-mail Clair and see what they want.
FM broadcast CD changers are kinda hokey, they work, some like them, a lot don't.

The cheapest you can get is the OEM CD Changer from eBay (~$400) or in audiworld 4Sale listings (~$350). And it is used changer so ic could "skip" or do other crap.
I have looked at this area. There is no substitution or adapters for this car (you can find 8pin DIN conector in your trunk).
But for ~$350 you can get MP3 player with FM adaptor. I like this idea more because it does not skip. You can get more music and you can group it according to your mood. Plus it is postable.

Audi CD changers
