My sons 1990 90 has been there for two weeks. Dash board lights do not work. My regular mechanic had the car for two weeks, couldn't fix it and told me to take it to Rector so they could call the Audi help line and properly diagnose the problem.Instead they have replaced the wiring harness($200 + labor) blew out the curcuit board again($200), told me they can't absorb the cost of their mistake and still have no idea how to fix the car. But the bill is now $1200.00!We searched the Audi 90 board and tried all the things they suggested. No luck.

I called Len Hunts office today and left a message for his assisitant, Angela Brown, because I don't know what else to do.I have two other Audis and want to maintain a good relationship with this dealer but my son needs his car and I am not made of money. I guess the next step is to send a Fed X to Len Hunt if I don't hear anything today. Thoughts?

Unless you signed some agreement saying that even if he damages your car in any way shape or form he is liable for the damages and costs incured. And even if he had, its very bad buisiness if you were to tell people about how unstead of fixing your car he caused more damage and made you pay for it.

If talking to him about it doesn't solve anything, you might want to call the better buisiness Bureau.. or maybe talk to lawyer about filing a notice to sue. (I beleave thats what its called, basicly letting said person know you are planning to sue them unless X actions are met).

My friend is a lawyer and has gotten alot of action done in the area about not distributing rain checks on sale items by doing this. (Illegal in michigan unless the sale advertisement says 'while supplies last')

Sorry I don't know much about your problem, but I think your mechanic is ripping you off :(

Try Tony at Euro Quattro in Mountain View off the Rengstorff exit on 101. He's very fair and honest and I never felt like he was trying to rip me off when I went there. I've used him for almost ten years.

WOW!!
I just got my car back from Rector Motors....took them 2 weeks to find a faulty wire in tranny... my invoice claims that the R&R'd the instrument cluster and replaced the ignition switch...which they did neither... $775.90 for a bad wire and me out of a car for 2 wks...I am in the process of filing a complaint with the BAR...
Maybe if you filed a similar claim...we could both get some vindication...
Good Luck!!!
