Thanks for answering all my questions guys. You all enabled me to take the dive with a little more knowledge than I had before. I'll be hanging around here a lot as I learn more about my car and possibly share experiences with you guys. I'll post some pics in a week or two.

1996 A6 Quattro -- most enjoyable car I've ever owned. I just had a full week having to drive our "family truckster" (a Ford SUV) and I really missed the Audi!

Alexi, let us know how you like new 100S compared with your departed BMW 740i.

Anyway I'm in Texas. The car now has 81k miles with over 600 miles put on by me just this week while testing and evaluating it. It's an awesome car.

I'm still trying to figure out the features but it looks like it's a notch down from the fully loaded version. I don't have seat memory and auto dipping right mirror like I saw on a 95 that a friend was testing a year ago.

I love the car coz it's so smooth and quiet and at the same time has a firm surefooted feeling. I wouldn't compare it to a 740iL (beleive me the 740 is a whole different ball game)but it reminds me of the 525i I had before that.

So far I'm loving it.

Congratulations! You'll love the machine. BTW, you DO have an auto dipping right mirror. To activate the feature, you have to have depress the right mirror button on the mirror control (on the dashboard). Leave it pushed all the way in, and when you shift into reverse, the mirror will dip down. Really handy for seeing the curb when parallel parking or backing with cars parked on that side.
