This afternoon after having the car parked for a couple of hours I started
the car in order to drive home.

Fire up the engine and... A lot of things were KAPUT!

No blinkers, No AC unit or any climate control response, No wipers (front
or back). The things are just dead. Everything else seems to work.

I immediately checked the fuse box on the side of the console and
all the fuses look fine.

I have a service appointment in two weeks. But two weeks without
blinkers and AC is not an option.

Anyone seen this before? Thanks a lot for all your comments and
any hints you may have.

Have a great weekend!

THere is one under the hood. My seat heaters stopped working, and it turned out to be a blown fuse but I couldn't find it until I realized about the one under the hood.

Its in a small box near the drivers seat under the hood, take a look.

Thanks for your reply.

I didn't check the second fuse box since by reading the manual
it did not seem like any of those fuses had anything to do with these
things. But I will check them in the morning just in case...
Who knows...

The thermometer also went. Since all these things went at the same time
I suppose they are all connected somewhere and something is blown.
But that's just a guess. I wish I knew where to look so I could fix it myself.

but that's probably not your problem...

I checked the second fuse box and all fuses are OK as
expected.

As for the circuit breakers I dont really know how to check them.
Maybe one of them is busted.

Does anyone know if one of the circuit breakers covers the following:
AC, thermometer, blinkers, wipers.

Thanks again for your comments.

after some experimenting, I found it was the ignition switch. There seemed to be a major relay that was not closing when the switch was turned "on". I could get it to close by wiggling the key in a certain way. Later had the switch replaced. By the way, the headlights didn't work, either.

Thanks to all that wrote with replies to my inquiry.
It was in fact the ignition switch. I turned the key back
slightly and all the electrical accessories came back to life.

I guess I will be replacing it soon just in case. But for now the
car is driveable.

Thanks again for all feedback!

My '95 is doing this. The problem (in my case) is a weak return spring in the ignition switch, so if I start the car and have no climate control/windows/etc., I just twist the key VERY GENTLY to the left, back to the "run" position.
