I got a letter in the mail today from "The Warranty Group"
which includes the affiliated companies

Heritage warranty Mutual Insurance, Inc, Warranty Corporation, Automotive Warranty Corporation of America, and Warranty Acceptance Corporation

Anyone had any experiance with any of these guys? It looks like a good deal if it covers things that are going to need to be replaced eventually.

It doesn't look like they cover any of the matenence items (o2 sensors, fuel filter, brake pads, water pump, etc, etc)

If this sounds bogus, any suggestions on who to go to?

I figure if I could get some money off on replacing my timming belt (its been about 40k, thinking ahead) and other things that go wrong on C4's (wheel bushing + bearing etc) its worth the hassel.

Thanks in advance.

I looked up The Warranty Group on the Google search engine. Check out this thread of discussions from Cartalk about the Warranty Group. They don't appear to make people happy.

http://cartalk.cars.com/Mail/BBS/Carma-Talk/515x5.html</a

Just do your homeword on the company. Look over the covered parts list carefully. Ask detailed questions about failures and what's covered.

They don't usually cover stuff unless it's broken/busted/dead/completely out of life. You won't get a timing belt service covered. But you probably do have to do it to maintain the warranty.
