View Full Version : I need a device that protects my car from the horrors of parking lots

Every blemish my car has (not a lot, but more than there should be by far) has happened in a parking lot.

I just noticed today that some SUV backed into me, leaving a nice big dent under my license plate while I was at the gym. (Had to be a SUV due to where the dent was located). No note left, nothing, just a nice big dent.

That with two other noticable spots where I was backed into, and a good handful of door dings, it makes me angry how inconsiderate people are of other peoples cars.

While eating breakfast on friday, sitting at an outdoor resturant I was amazed when a lady went to parrallel park on the street and ruthlessly backed her ford torus into a brand new Cadillac. She got out and looked at the bumper of the cadillac, shrugged, and walked away. Even when there where 5-10 people outside who witnessed it happen.

Is it really that hard to watch what you are doing?

My car got dinged up pretty good at school the last couple of years. I finally gave up and started to park 6 miles out in the middle of nowhere. Also I never park anywhere near shopping marts either...

Three considerable dings, all done while the car was parked. FORTUNATELY, no door dings on the A6 (it's in PERFECT condition) .... not so lucky with the 100CS (5-7 door dings). You just can't do anything but park as far away from other cars as possible. However, that option isn't always available.

I had to park my turbocharged Subaru in valet garage. They fried two turbos...

I always try to park away from other vehicles.
I think the dent the made me the most angry was a
conversion van that had parked next to me and backed in. The drivers door was now on the side with my car and, yup, smacked that door right into my fender.

I was seriously considering keying his van.

Sam.

Incedently I'm now arguing with a manager at Progressive to get my car fixed. It still can't be aligned.

I actually know someone who works valet for the local hospital. He is the kind of guy who you want to park your car.

He tells me every time someone drops off a nice car he loves it, because he can treat it like his own :) (which is very well of cource)

I think she just saw my car way out there and followed the "trail" to it. Thought about keying her car or banging it but after looking at her car, she wouldn't have noticed I'm sure.

But now I'm back to 'paranoid' mode with the A6. No marks and want to keep it that way!

Guy parks at a 7-11. Door bangs the car next to him. Which is owned by the guy just walking out of the 7-11 who starts yelling, "You door banging Son of a Bit*h" while stomping on the hood of the door banger's car with his cowboy boots. The door banger just sat there with a stupid look on his face.
