My reception has slowly gone to crap. At times, all I get is one or two stations and the rest are static... has only recently been like this, and isn't all the time. What exactly did you do Scott, and did it help?

Also my brake pad wear sensor has been kicked off twice today, but I know that the pads are quite thick. I guess I'll look into it, even though it's not a huge deal.

Radio shack has one too, dunno if they are the same quality or not.

It plugs into the anttenna cabels if I am not mistaken.

experiments.

If you recall I got to the point where I got either AM or FM really really good, but not both at the same time. That was (is) using a powered antenna. I cut the "brick" off the AC power adaptor and hooked it up to a 12 v line with a bypass capacitor in the car.

I've been listening to very good FM reception for several weeks now with this setup.

Since I have the Audi part now I was actually planning on doing some experiments this weekend.

As for your situation:

1. AM and FM both affected?
2. Does it fade in and out or just go away instantly?
3. Can't you just play the CD? (I'm sorry, that's a cheap shot). ;-)

Will this amp work with the Audi Delta CC head unit? My AM reception is not good, FM is ok. Do you know what the part number is? If so, I would appreciate it. Lastly, does the dealer install this or can I?

The part is located inside the D piller trim. You need to remove the entire back seat, rear speakers, slide the rear deck out (if you don't remove the seat belts-I didn't) and then unscrew and remove the trim pieces to get the D pillar trim out.

As far as your reception, sounds like the amp but you need to test. The AM and one of the FM antennas is on the rear window, one FM antenna is on the front window.

I may post a few pics tonight.

It pretty much fades in and out. Only tried FM. When it's out, there is basically nothing. But when I'm driving a reasonable speed, it will be fading in and out constantly. When parked or driving very slowly, the reception goes in or out. Then at times it works fine. Although, those times are becoming pretty rare.

Well, I guess I'll deal with it when I get back... I'll be away for 1-2 weeks starting today.
