that's about how much yo'd get these things now. And if you get the '96, you'll be stuck with a 12V 172hp engine that goes 0-60 as fast as a stock 1.8T.

If I were you, I'd look for a turbo, '97 and up 1.8T Quattro 5-speed. Seeing what you did to your car, you can play with this baby in a similar fashion and get real horsepower! Like up to 350hp Stage VII hp from TAP, 300hp from APR, the list goes on and on. Suspension, brake and wheel upgrades are phenomenal too.

And if you can, get the S4. Now there's a serious piece of machinery. Look out for Corey's S4, as he is one of the fastest drivers I know who just sold his 1.8T (highly modified too) to get his S4. He's already got upgrades coming for it. I won't be surprised if by y2k, he is at 350-400 hp and more

If yu get a 2.8, make sure it is a 98 or newer with a 30V. At least that starts with 190 hp and has a few options available to get it to 205 or 285hp.

BTW, I have a 96 12V and after all the mods I put in this car, I still get whooped by a chipped 1.8T. The price I pay for being one of the 1st to get an A4 around here. Good car though
