Pennzoil longlife - 15w/40 . By the way, Audi of America returned my recent call regarding the factory fill. They use 5w/40 although I do not know the brand. I do know there is nothing in it except dino juice!. No break-in additives, etc.

Planning 10W-30 for Spring-Fall. Changes at 3750, filters at 7500 with dealer. I have a 2.8 quattro. Comments welcome.

During the last 2 winters I lived in Canada it would get so damn cold even the mobil 1 was a slow crank on really cold days. I'd suggest the 0-30 grade, it turned over great in any really cold conditions. Now I live in Sunny San Diego and use 15-50 mobil 1 year round. <br>And no! I don't miss the winter - at all..

I wanted the dealer to install Mobil 1, and took in 5 qts of 5w30. This seemed to be what the manual recommended. Dealer said manual was wrong, Audi needs 15w50 (even in the winter, in NJ), and installed his own.

I don't think anyone makes a conventional 15W-50. Kendal makes a Super D 15W-40, but that's the closest I'm aware of. Perhaps your dealer used the Mobil 1 15W-50. You should ask. I would think they would have charged you for it though, if that's the case. As I'm sure you are aware from below, I agree with your dealers view on the weight applications. :-) <p>Charles<br>
