View Full Version : Anyone ever convert a lease to a purchase? RickS 10-12-1999, 06:14 PM Audiboy 10-12-1999, 07:47 PM Probably the best way I bought (or leased) a car. Why? 2% APR for 3 years for the lease, residual payoff in November for $15K (under negotiation) and with a total bill of $32K for my '96 including tax, financing and the cost of the car at $29k. Only a cash up front payment can beat that. A 5 year purchase plan at 7% will cost in excess of $38k when paid off. Drawback, gotta keep the mileage low and car clean for final inspection. No problem with that. John 10-13-1999, 03:48 AM Why on earth would the mileage or condition of the car be a factor if you are buying it yourself? I've done this any number of times and the dealer/lease agent never even looked at my car! Cost me $25k total with financing and all. chuck 10-13-1999, 09:52 AM Audi finacial services were extremely difficult to deal with, and in my opinion were boderline dishonest. It took almost 2 months to get the paperwork through Audi. When all was said and done i was terribly disappointed. If my friend bought his lease out, sales tax would be required. When i bought the car from him sales tax again would be required. After continually asking questions to everyone at Audi, they finally brought up the fact that i could aquire his lease. Terrible customer service! This is not a flame, just aviod these folks with anything other than a simple task. |
