i was going to check my codes and when i looked for the wires only thing i found was a black conector with 2 wires and a one conecter with only 1 wire. my car is a 1990 audi 80 i was looking under the dash on the drivers side. am i missing it or soming.

..connector with one wire...usually a brown plug. Will be right next to it.

do you have a fuse box under the hood? I know that there are two ports under the cover on my 95 90. not sure bout the differences tho. If you do have a diagnostic port under there you ground out the b+ port i believe. A search would find an answer to your question. Then you'll have a blink diagnostic and just gotta look the code(s) up.
