My yellow check light went off today...I called Audi Roadside Assistance for info about if i should still drive me car, etc and they said that since it was ON and not blinking ON and OFF, then that it could be a number of things. They think it was air in my gas tank..they said it's common when filling up gas...they said if it doesn't go off next time i start my car after driving it for a while then see my dealer tomorrow when they open. but if it does go of then it is infact air in the gas tank and the car just has to "pass" it out..like a fart =)...anyways, it did in fact turn off. has this happened to anyone else? should i still see my dealer tomorrow? <p>Thanks,<br>Jason<br>98.5 1.8T pearlescent (with a car that just passed gas)<br>

The light went on solid so I made an appointment with my dealer. There was a 2 week wait to get it in. The light went off a couple days later so I just cancelled the appointment. Everthing seemed fine when the light came on and everthing is still fine. The light hasn't come back on. You can have the dealer take a quick look if it's convienent but I don't think you have to worry about it. It was probably just some temporary emissions check failure.<p>Mark (98.5 2.8 QMS)

For any serious problem, the light will stay on or flash. As it is, the problem is logged into memory (at least for a while) and will be there next time you do bring the car in (unless it is one of the faults that disappears from memory after a certain period if it doesn't recur). Of course, if the car doesn't seem to be running right, schedule an appointment anyway.

It's a pain in the rear, really. Every time the car just hiccups (single misfire or such), the light screams "Help, help, dealer time!".<p>I'm about to remove the bulb! ;-(<p>Ours was on for a week until last Thursday, when it mysteriously went off again. This time, It *did* start by blinking, so we almost had it towed, thinking it's really got a problem! Not!<p>Big O 98/98.5 (what's the difference, they both have solid tailights, side airbags, Panasonic CD, green dash light indicator etc.!?!) 1.8TqMS<br>(Unless the relocated cupholders make a 98.5!)
