im doing it without the euro switches, and without anything special like the "kit" europrice has.....

BUT it does involve some cutting, gliing, drilling, soldering, and some brains.....

basically all you need to do is make a clock spring out of the stock 90 unit, and the A4 one...

it involves cutting off the canceling ring on the back, and using the one on the 80/90 in its place.....thats all! pics will follow.....

I prefer bolt-on solutions to problems, though when I was working on the conversion I had originally planned the hack 'n' glue method, but found a method to go bolt-on without modification, yes it isn't the cheapest way that everyone strives for, but there ain't no cutting, gluing, or drilling, plus it's a true OE solution;)

as the '98 has a different center bore and spline count. There is an adapter for that as well, BUT the airbag wiring is not the same and I wouldn't be splicing/soldering airbag wiring personally. I've got the adapter sitting here as a paperweight and it was tested, the fit is perfect, but there is no clock spring that has the proper wiring, nor would I want to have people modifying airbag wiring in anyway.

but it's actually a development part so it's near cost, but of course it would be a horrible thing for a parts reseller to ever make any profit;)

I would have much to say on the subject of time, investment, cost, and so forth about such a topic, but I'll hold my tongue.

I have brought forth a load of information about this conversion on this forum, as I know I am the first member of this forum to complete this conversion in an OE manner, possibly in any manner.

I apologize for attempting to take the knowledge I gained through hard work, extensive funding, and testing as a method of miniscule financial gain, trust me it's small fries. The time alone to produce the illustrated instructions and full crossover wiring charts is enough to charge separately for IMHO, imagine what Bentley gets for making wiring diagrams;)

The parts you could buy separately from anywhere if you prefer, except for the spacer sleeve. You may even find purchasing the new parts separately would cost you even more than the "kit," they are dealer only parts anyways, of which I have repeatedly listed on this forum!

Good luck with your work, it should work just fine, though I provide an OE bolt-on solution that you may find is too expensive, sometimes you have to pay to play.
