You'd probably have to remove the stock "tips" from your exhaust (they look like stainless-steel sleeves) and then slide the S4 ones on in their place. Not sure if the rear muffler is the same as the A4 2.8 or not. Hope this helps in some way.

Hmmm...the stock exhaust on my '97 1.8T had a noticeable portion at the end (maybe 4 inches in length) that appeared to be spot-welded onto the actual two exhaust pipes exiting the rear muffler. I assumed that the 2.8 exhaust was the same way. You will have to peer under the car to see what I'm talking about...from the rear it looks like just two single pipes.

and the 2.8 doesn't have this, so I don't think they are the same.

At least I have both types sitting in my garage after I pulled out A4ALLAN's and mine.

Most of the heat shields under the A4 are similar.

I went out to our parking lot at lunch and looked at Rick's car compared to mine and he has the welded tips on his 1.8T and my 2.8 does not, bummer. I'm hoping to upgrade to the S4 tips if possible, but I have a feeling they are not going to be sold separately. I try to find an S4 at Cherry Hill Imports or maybe Don Rosen to get a good look at the tips and how they are attached. BTW, thanks for the picture!
