Ok, here's the scoop.

On a stock Audi 90/CQ, the turnsignal is a big fat 12 volt, dual filament, 21/5 watt bulb.

On a RS2 headlight, the parking light is located where the turnsignal is on the US cars. The bulb is only 5 watts.

The US spec bulb will not fit unless you cut the plastic on the back of the RS2 housing.

What if you just put orange LED's in the RS2 parking light location rather than the US spec bulb? I don't want to cut the housing if I don't have to because that's not reversible.

sound like a good idea. In your opinion, is the conversion worth it. The lights on my cab suck. I noticed that the 97 A6 has the projection light. why can't people just use that wiring harness etc.

I have a 1991 Coupe Quattro. Mine's got well over 200k miles but I got it for cheap with the intention of fixing it up. I intend to keep the car basically forever.

One of my previous cars has the same headlights as your Cabriolet ('93 90q sedan). The headlights aren't that bad. I adjusted mine up a little bit because I don't care if I blind people. The basic light pattern is good--just the bulbs are a little dim. The stock lights on my Coupe however are terrible. The glass is cloudy from millions of little rock chips and the light pattern is just garbage. In the long run, I just wouldn't be happy with the stock lights.

So, how about you? If you don't plan on keeping the car too long, maybe $600 for headlights isn't for you. But for me? Definitely. Mark my words--the day will come when you will no longer be able to get RS2 headlights new from the factory...

I got my RS2's from Nick @ www.autox.biz BTW :)
