Hi there!
I am living in Germany and I bought an A4 Avant build in 1996 last year. It was driven about 40.000km when I bought the car. Now it displays 100.000km and they were pain:
I experienced there problems, many people were talking about in this forum: The car is very susceptibly (wind, simply passing a truck, holes is the road (small ones), quick changes of the direction (left, right, left in a slalom) and so on). It alwys gives me the feeling of not totally having the control of what is going on.
When I went to the dealers (don't know how many time and hoe much it cost), they said everythings fine and replaced some parts, because I told them to do so (thought it would help).

NOW I know that I am not mad, but the car is one of those with a problem any other people around the world did also experience.
Now the question: Who has got a solution? Did anyone out there successfully fix the problem?

Please DO include a carbon copy to my e-mail (boege@netcologne.de) if replying.
Thanks a lot!

Yes and no. I did replace the tires (my dealer did), once for testing, once because we had a strong winter last year. But there were no changes in the steering behavior. I did NOT replace them for bigger tires (e.g. 225, 235), I always used standard 195 tires like these factory pre-installed tires.
Xcuse my English,
