How much modifications were needed to fit the S4 bumper on the Coupe? Just the front, what parts would I need besides Headlights...Bumper...??

Thx

Who owns this car? Are you on the forum?

That was some serious bodywork to get that all to fit. Looks like they used the whole front clip off the S4 and custom-blended that in. Not a cheap date, but definately doable :)

There is a company in Germany that makes a body kit for the typ89s so they look like B5 A4's.

Basically every body panel on that CQ has been modified in some way. The front fenders, hood, headlights, doors, rear fenders, front bumper, etc.

It only has a 2.8 12 valve engine.

Notice the side mirrors too. So you have custom 1/4 panels, new hood support. Probably a custom hood, since I doubt the A4 hood would fit. Most likely stock front bumper, lots of custom hardware and bling bling labor.

Nice Look, though.

I think it would be a waste of $$ to make a 90 sedan look like an A4 though. :)

There is a company in Germany that can send you the needed parts to convert a CQ to A4 front. Can't use regular A4 stuff cuz because the A4 is 4 cm or mm too long or short (sorry can't remember the details. I posted details about it maybe 6 -8 months ago. I do remember that the kit cost was something like 6k not to mention shipping it over here, and then having it fit and painted. your talking like 10k depending on how much you do yourself.
I love this car but wouldn't pay that much $$ for it.

Lotsa welding, panel beating, grinding, sanding, etc. Not much glass fibre on that thing if I am remembering correctly...

i read an article online a while back about a guy who changed an A4 into a coupe, and that was the pic of the car, it also jsut doesn't look like a cq, the doors and fenders look different, if it is a coupe that must have taken a real long time, and not to mention the cash!

...not to mention B5s were sedan/avants only. Sounds easier to swap the front body panels than to make it into a coupe, yes/no?
