as in "you left your keys in the car.. also should there be a chime if i leave my lights on. i have no chimes at all, on positive is that the headlights will turn off and only the parking lights will stay on if i for get to turn them off

You should have a chime for both instances. You said that the lights will turn off, does the A4 have automatic lights? If so how ou turn them on? Thanks

if my head lights are turned on and i for get to turn them off, it will automatically turn off just the head lights when i remove the key.. no chime though, i wonder whats up?

Thats wierd. I am positive that I have a chime but never have tried leaving on the lights to see if they turn off. So you are saying that when Iremove the key the lights turn off all by themself??

Doesn't matter if engine is still running or has just been switched off. Key must be ON for headlights to function; if the light switch is left on and the engine is switched off the parking lights stay on and you get a buzzer when you open the door. AFAIK, the "chime" is seatbelts only and some minor dash warnings.

exactly. The chime has never functioned.
