*Please bare with my spelling I just got out of surgery and am on heavy pain killers <http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/smile.gif> *

Hello everyone, I have just a few questions I need some help on. Well first is what are other good audi forums out there(performance and general I guess).

Ok its time for me to get rid of my beater (92 civic hatch). I have always wanted a 1990 audi 90 quattro. And I have always wanted to swap a "aan" engine in that 90q(I also dreamed of this audi running a 13 sec 1/4..not sure if this really is a dream or obtainable). Now I know it can be done...but I am 20 and living on my own so lets say money isn't rolling in right now.

So keeping that in mind lets look over my options.

I could keep the stock motor and go n/a. Only thing is I havne't heard of many mods for this engine. I know of intake, exhaust, chip, and cams. How much of a gain at the wheels am I looking at with these mods.

I was also wondering if the chip even really makes a difference. I have read on some sites that say about a 7 hp gain at the wheels. I am not really sure if I should believe this. I know chips on turbo cars adds a great deal..but on a n/a car I am not sure.

Now the next question is about the piper cams. First off is there any other brand of cams out there other than piper? Next is if I would throw in the cams would I need to upgrade the valvtrian(ex springs and retainers). Would I need cam gears(or are there)? How much of a hp gain can I expect with these?

Is there a header out for this car? Would I gain anything by having a shop port the existing header?

Last I guess if pistons and porting and polishing the head. I know honda heads are tricky to p&p. If you do them wrong you will lose power not gain it. Are audi heads the same way. How should I go about doing this? And what compression pistons should I look at?

If there is anything else I am missing please list it.

Now onto the aan swap. First off I would have no idea of where to even start looking for a engine. And when I would find one what kind of miles should I be looking for or expecting on it(I have heard the 20vt runs forever but I am just leary spending lots of money on a swap with a ton of miles)?

What would I all need for parts?

Seeing that I live in Wisconsin. I don't think there are any shops I would trust with this task. What shops would you recommend for me to take my car(hopefully not to far).

Is this a reliable swap if done right(If I have to drive a couple states away I dont want to be doing it every weekend because the car is breaking)?

How much money do you think it would cost for the swap?

Could most if not all the aftermarket parts fit on the 90q(ex front mount intercooler)?

If I forgot anything please feel free to add.

And lastly if it was you with a 90q what would you do?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ ALL OF THIS AND ALL YOUR HELP!!!
