View Full Version : How much urq Sport go for...decent condition? Is there ay in US? and aslo why did Audi go with ..... 520 03-11-2003, 08:25 PM Avants for RS line?? cuatrokoop 03-11-2003, 08:39 PM The SQ typically goes for $50-80k. Bodies are carbon/kevlar, and only around 50 were imported to the US, with another 200 worldwide. Good luck finding, or affording, a Sport. The urq goes for $3-18k, depending on condition. Bodies are NOT galvanized, so watch for rust. Also, heads use solid lifters, not hydraulic, so they need adjustment from time to time. Early cars have electrical gremlins much worse than any 80/90 has ever had. Turbos are oil only units, not oil/water, so watch for abused/cooked turbos and/or retrofit a watercooled version on the car, along with the aux. water pump. There are others that know more about them, ask on the urq/SQ forum... 520 03-11-2003, 08:47 PM Thanks ..thats plenty...i don't plan on buing any...jst wondring...but 50-80K....wholy s**t thats a lot...I wonder where those 50 are....worth stealing! How about RS line....you know why they chose Avants? cuatrokoop 03-11-2003, 08:50 PM No clue why they went with avants...Ultimate sleepers maybe? Sick sense of humor? Who knows...Only Piech and a few others would know for sure! BTW, you had to order FOUR SQ's when new back in the day, to get them shipped to the US by Audi Sport/quattro gmbh to the dealer network. 4 x $65k-ish is a lot of money to buy new cars at... 520 03-11-2003, 08:53 PM Don@STaSIS 03-12-2003, 05:44 AM Howdy! The RS2 and RS4 are made from leftover Avant chassis most likely. There were so many extra 80 Avants unsold in the European market upon the impending inception of the A4 that Audi had to do something with them, and came the RS2. I assume the same occured with the RS4, sedans sell better than Avants and in tradition with the RS2 it becomes even more of a reason to run a special production in the Avant form. Audi builds the fastest wagons;) Cheers, Rob K 03-12-2003, 10:58 AM I thought the choice of avants for the RS had something to do with f/r weight distribution and structural rigidity advantages over the sedans. 520 03-12-2003, 02:14 PM |
