I called mine up today and they sent a glass company and 2 hours later they fixed 2 little cracks I got on the road the other day. Pretty cool...

Howdy! Depends on the insurance company, your policy, possible state differences, glass insurance, deductible, and so on. I know Geico doesn't do that for me, wish they did, got a double chip some months ago just off to the left side of my vision. Note that most companies will not repair chips in your direct line of site.

Also if chip is too big they can't do it. But if its in your eye sight, they will ask you and if you say yes it is then you are fool, but if you say no then glass company that does the work won't care about it, plus you can always drop few bucks in guy's pocket who comes to do the work so he doesn't care!

Howdy! Liability only, not for me! I have heavy insurance limits, you never know what is going to happen out there and I want full coverage for my car, myself, and anything else that may need to be covered in an accident.

Though with a $1k deductible and a car worth $5-6k tops it is a bit silly to be so fully covered for collision unless I am involved in a hit with a pricey rig.

I don't have a full, but comprehensive...I pay only if I smash the car, the other cases are covered...full is a bit too much for my budget!

Howdy! It's great to get older;) $1100 per 6 month as a 17 years old with Hanover, $850 per 6 month with Geico at 21 years old, $700 per 6 month with Geico at 23... I also took some defensive driving courses for insurance cuts, $75 per 6 month for a 1 day course in a classroom!

Be very careful making too many claims on your insurance, even if they are $50 windshield dings. I claimed 2 dings and a windshield in a 16 month period on my 3 cars and my insurance company (State Farm) responded by raising my comprehensive deductible from $50 to $500. When I asked why they said if they received more than 3 comprehensive (theft, act of god, etc) claims for any reason in a 2-year period they did that, *no matter how much the claim was for*. I would recommend that folks pay the $50 out of their own pocket and "save" their claims for real damage, like a broken windshield, stereo theft, etc.

BTW: That was over 2 years ago and they still refuse to drop it back.
