My heat had broken, but they replaced it.Now when i look behind the dash board i see lots of cracked ventilation plastics that when pushed forward or backward or in the original position, the rattle stops. Also when i turn the right knob to divert the air from top to bottom and to face this happens:When it set on top,i hear rattling noise from the center console and far back. When i slightly move the knob to the left,it stops.
Thats why i think there´s somthing wrong with the flaps. Each flap has on its end a small cushin that prevents contact of plastic to plastic.Thats why i need the inside of the ventilation shafts,or the heater box,or whereever this part is located. This way i will know which parts to replace,or fix.THANX

For having access to the ventilation box, you need to remove the entire dash. Huge job. If your shop has ****ed it up, why don't you have them fix it?

The shop that did my engine and A/C transplant are now looking at the stars whistling and dont want to do anything to my car.
I have a friend of mine that is a car electrician and we are going to be doing this job in a couple of months, while i will have enough time to help him.Remember?this is why i was asking about the cabrio dash, maybe i will find one to put that in instead of mine. We'll see...

By the way, although the car runs fine now(with a 1600cc engine from a B4 audi),if i had found your site sooner and had known things about audi 80 sooner,i could have had the 1.8T conversion instead of this one,and maybe with less cost...damn it!!!!

A B4 dash will only look good in a type 89 sedan if the door panels and center console are changed, too. As for the 1.8T transplant, even though it has become cheaper now, as there are parts usable from the 1.8 20V normally aspirated Cabrio, it is still an ultra expensive job if done thoroughly, so I'd rather point you towards a 5-cyl-turbo conversion. Mo' bang 4 da buck, simply.

You are right about the door panels.
The 1.8T now is not an option cash likewise.Actually no other transplant is an option for the time being. In the future(as i am still a med student)depending on the cash flow,i will decide whether to get into a new transplant or save up to buy an A4 1.8T with everything on it!!

I hope you will be in touch Oliver, cause your(as well as everyone elses in here of course) expertise is always needed.

Thanks for the info.
